Residents in the City of Durango, Colorado can now wear their civility on their sleeve with a new program called Civility First, to ensure its residents and visitors are treated with respect.
Anyone who who takes the pledge is asked to “model civil behaviour and tone, and to promote respect for diversity”. Participants also gain access to additional resources and educational opportunities, including means of participating in the Durango Diversity Dialogue, an annual event co-sponsored by the Community ReLarkin’s Commission, Indigineous People’s Day and the Durango Pride Festival.
