This #WednesdayWisdom is a critical reminder on this day, January 29th, the 3rd anniversary of the ‪Quebec mosque shooting which left six people dead and dozens suffering injuries both physical and psychological. #IRememberJan29

Also remember first responder Andréanne Leblanc (31) who was found dead March 2018, dressed in her paramedic's uniform. She is regarded as seventh victim of the shooting. Her suicide has highlighted the lack of mental health resources for first responders:

At the shooters sentencing, a Quebec judge said he was driven by a "visceral hatred toward Muslim immigrants."

While hate crimes in Canada continue to rise in the double digits for the past several years, awareness of the problem lags. A recent poll found that 42 percent of Canadians don’t feel we have a problem with racism in our country.
