At the shooters sentencing, a Quebec judge said he was driven by a "visceral hatred toward Muslim immigrants."
While hate crimes in Canada continue to rise in the double digits for the past several years, awareness of the problem lags. A recent poll found that 42 percent of Canadians don’t feel we have a problem with racism in our country.
